ROME, N.Y. (10/6/24) - The Nichols College men's golf team took part in the Hamilton College Invitational at the par-72, 6,800-yard Rome Country Club this weekend. The Bison finished ninth out of 11 participating teams.
The Bison finished the two-round event with a team score of 643 (+67), landing them ahead of 10
th place finisher Wesleyan University.
Junior
Cameron Desante led Nichols as he placed in a three-way tie for 25
th with a two-round total of 157 (+13), scoring two birdies in the second round. Graduate
Luke Sargent finished one stroke behind Desante in a tie for 28
th, carding a 158 (+14) score with a two-stroke improvement on day two.
Second-year Bison
Tyler Pearson registered a 19-over par (163) performance, which landed him in a tie for 44
th individually. Fellow sophomore
Kyle Richman shot a 165 (+21) through the two rounds for a five-way tie for 47
th, while senior
Colby Allen came in with a 171 (+27) to place tied for 56
th.
Men's Golf will have some time off to prepare for the upcoming NEIGA Championship on October 19-20, which will be held at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
