SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (10/30/24) – In their regular-season finale, the Nichols College Bison men's soccer team fell on the road in Springfield to the Western New England Golden Bears. The Golden Bears blanked the Bison by a final score of 6-0.
With the loss, the Bison finished their season with a 4-11-2 (1-6-2 CNE) record. The Golden Bears head to the CNE post-season with a 9-8-3 (5-3-1 CNE) record.
Tyler Lewis scored the game's opening and game-winning goal for WNE just 10 seconds into the contest and would go on to add a hat-trick for the Golden Bears in the outing.
The Golden Bears outshot the Bison 36-5 (19-2 SOG), and senior goalkeeper
Franco Barreto Santana made a season-high 13 saves in net for the Bison in his final match in a Nichols uniform.

William Pugliese-Savage led the way for the Bison with two shots. Barreto Santana and Pugliese-Savage were joined on the pitch in their final game by fellow seniors
Liam Dinnan,
Nathan Salamon, and
Nicholas De Paula.
The game was the last of the Bison's 2024 campaign, they now turn their attention to spring ball and the 2025 slate.
