BREWSTER, Mass. (10/20/24) – The Nichols College women's golf team wrapped up their fall campaign this weekend at the 9
th annual Women's NEIGA Championship, held at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
The Bison placed 7
th out of 11 participating teams, with a two-round score of 778 (+202). Babson College was crowned the champion with a 38-over 614.
Freshman
Isabella Fleury posted Nichols' top score, finishing 34-over (178) to place 20
th individually. The first-year standout shot an 87 (+15) in the opening round before scoring a 91 (+19) on the second day.
Junior
Kaitlin Baca finished 14-strokes behind Fleury in a tie for a three-way tie for 28
th, carding a 192 (+48) with a solid 17-over (89) performance in Saturday's portion of the event. Freshman
Eva Melanson took 35
th as she shot a 204 (+60) across the two rounds, while sophomore
Maya Orbegozo claimed 38
th at 209 (+65). Sophomore
Gabrielle Maranchie came in 40
th overall, turning in a 68-over 212 card.
Senior Keeley Griffin was also apart of the field as an individual entry and finished in a tie for 53
rd following a 255 (+111) performance, shaving 19 strokes off her first-round score on the second day.
Women's golf will return to action in the spring of 2025, with an official schedule to be announced at a later time.
