DUDLEY, Mass. (10/17/24) - The top-seeded Nichols College women's tennis team dominated No. 4 Roger Williams University 4-0 in the Conference of New England Tournament Semifinal on Thursday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts.

Nichols advances to their third consecutive conference championship, where they will host No. 3 seed Endicott College at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 19^th. It is also the third straight championship meeting between the Bison and the Gulls.

The Bison secured the doubles point with victories at the top two flights. Both wins came by 6-3 final scores, with freshman tandem Kamora Helton and Pamela Gonzalez Vallardi claiming the win at the top position, and seniors Antonia Carrero and Johanna Schroeder winning at No. 2 doubles.

Moving into singles play, Helton increased Nichols' match lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the top position. Then, in very quick succession, sophomore Cora Brosch pushed the Bison lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles, before Carrero clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 straight set win at No. 2 singles. Having claimed the winning point, the remaining three singles matchups were left unfinished.
