Manchester N.H. – The Nichols Women's Tennis team continued their fall road stretch as they headed up to New Hampshire on Saturday to take on the Saint Anselm Hawks. The Bison took the match by a score of 4-3.
The Bison were able to come away with two of the three doubles victories, with team captains
Kelley Carlin/Jordan Knowles picking up a win at #2 doubles and Sophia Leonardi Johanna Schroeder getting the win at #3 doubles.
The Hawks earned the wins in #1, 2, and 3 singles, but it was the Bison's roster depth that allowed them to get the win. Schroeder picked up her second with on the day at #4 singles, and Knowles did the same at #5 singles.
Camila Magrin rounded out the day for the bison with team securing victory at #6 singles.
Nichols head coach
Ron Gendron shared his thoughts following the match: "We played well enough to win and take a point. Saint A's competed very well, the top of their lineup in singles was strong, but ultimately we had enough depth to grind out the win. Good to get a win against a well-coached opponent on their courts. Looking to a busy week ahead, we have lots to prepare for. I really want to congratulate Cami on a great win to clinch the match."
The Bison continue their non-conference road stretch, as they head to Bryant for a matchup this Wednesday September 13
th. The start time for that match is 3pm.
