WESTFIELD, Mass. (9/17/23) – To kick off their inaugural season, the Nichols College women's golf program rounded a 2
nd place finish at the Westfield State University Tri-Match. The Bison shot a 425 team card in the effort, with the single-round tournament taking place at the Shaker Farms Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
Nichols was one of three participating teams at the event, along with third place finishing host Westfield State University (447) and Keene State University (401), who claimed the win as the top finishing team.
In addition to the Bison hitting the links for the first time ever, freshman
Maya Orbegozo made her collegiate debut and led the Bison with a 94 card through the solo round, which was also good for a runner-up finish amongst the 14-player field. Sophomore
Kaitlin Baca was the next lowest scorer for the Bison, as she completed the afternoon with a 104 score to finish tied for third individually.
The next three finishers for the Bison would be senior
Taylor Cornell with a 111 score, freshman
Gabrielle Maranchie with a 116, and graduate
Alaina Plourde with a 125 finish.

th in Wenham, Massachusetts at the Wenham Country Club.
