Smithfield R.I. (9/17/23). - The Nichols men's tennis team opening their fall 2023 dropped a non-conference match against NCAA Division I Bryant on Sunday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Complex. The Bulldogs beat the Bison by a score of 7-0.
The Bulldogs clinched the doubles point after wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The Bison duo of Trevor Schwartzman and Caio Dieckmann battled in the No. 3 position, before dropping by a score of 7-6 (7-4).
In singles action, the Bulldogs continued their sweep, winning all six matches in straight sets.
Coach Ron Gendron shared his thoughts following the match: "we have definitely seen growth in attitudes and effort, that translated to better results, but to be satisfied with a loss is just not what we will allow. But great effort across the board and a big congratulations to Jorge on his first College win as a coach! Go books go Bison!!"
