DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols men's volleyball team improved to 15-5 overall over its opening 20 matches with a straight sweep of NVU-Johnson in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play on Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Athletic Center. The win put the Bison, who are receiving votes in the latest NVA/AVCA Coaches Poll, to a perfect 3-0 in conference action and kept the Badgers searching for their first win in NECC competition at 9-3 (0-2 NECC). Nichols was victorious in the contest by set scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-18.
Nichols recorded 34 kills while hitting at a .318 team percentage, paced by
Connor McCabe's seven kills on eight errorless attempts (.750).
Nick Martin (15) and
Dylan Urbanski (11) each recorded double-digit assist totals while splitting up the setting responsibilities. At the service line, Martin and McCabe each recorded three of the team's 11 on the match. Off the bench,
KG Bennett was responsible for two solo blocks.
Nichols will hit the road for the first time in conference play for a showdown at Eastern Nazarene on Friday, March 17 at the Lahue Athletic Center in the rematch of the 2022 NECC semifinals, which Nichols won in five sets.
