BRISTOL, R.I. – The No. 8 Nichols women's basketball team fell to top seeded Roger Williams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament on Tuesday night by the score of 105-62. The Bison's season comes to an end with a record of 7-19 (5-13 CCC), while the Hawks march onto the semifinals with a 23-3 record.
 
With 4:40 remaining in the first quarter, Abrianna Vazquez nailed a jumper to even the score at 10 apiece. Roger Williams went on a 14-4 run to end the quarter and take a 24-14 lead into the second frame. The Bison found themselves down by as much as 18 in the second, but the fought back to cut the lead to 12 going into the break.
 
Roger Williams used a 37-point offensive outburst in the third quarter to extend their lead to 84-54. The deficit proved to be too much for the Bison in the fourth quarter, as Roger Williams advanced to the next round with the 43-point victory.
 
Vazquez led the way for Nichols, finishing with 20 points. Erin Cann pitched in with seven points and five rebounds.
 
No. 1 Roger Williams will take on No. 5 Western New England in the CCC semifinals on Thursday, February 23 in Bristol, R.I.
