BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Nichols men's ice hockey team had its three-game winning streak snapped by Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent No. 11 University of New England (UNE) on Saturday night at the Harold Alfond Forum. With this loss, Nichols falls to 9-14 (5-14 CCC), while No. 11 UNE continues their climb in the CCC playoff standings and improve to 16-5-2 (14-4-1 CCC).

Nichols could not slot one behind the Nor'easters goalie, Joe Stanizzi, who saved all 15 shots he faced from the Bison. Mathias Backstrom and Tyler Bost combined for 50 saves in the setback.

The Bison look to get back at it on Friday, February 17th against Endicott at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena in Beverly, Mass. at 7:00 PM.
