Dudley, Mass. (9/19/23) – The Nichols Men's Soccer Team bested the Fitchburg State University Falcons 3-1 on a Wednesday night matchup in Fitchburg.
The Bison took the 1-0 lead in the 12
th minute when sophomore
Tristan Phillips scored his fourth goal of the year. The Bison would extend their lead further in the 44
th minute when senior
Colby Knight scored his first goal of year off an assist from freshman
Shea Ullo. The point was the first of Ullo's collegiate career.
In second half action, the Falcons would push the Bison defence, but found themselves in offside trouble. In the 71
st minute, the Falcons would limit the Bison lead to one off a first career goal from Francesco Campione.
In the 82
nd minute, sophomore
Brady Stevenson would score his first goal of the season, extending the Bison lead back to two, and solidifying the 3-1 Bison victory.
Franco Barreto Santana made 4 saves for the Bison on the day.
With the win, Nichols sits at 6-4-1 (1-1-1 CCC) on the year, while Fitchburg drops to 2-7-2.
The Men's Soccer Team returns to action this Saturday October 7
th when they take on Suffolk in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match at East Boston Memorial Park. They are set to hit the pitch at 3 PM.
