Biddeford, Maine. – The Nichols College women's basketball team lost a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) game to University of New England (UNE) on Saturday afternoon by the score of 91-52. With the loss, Nichols falls to 2-9 (1-5 CCC), while the Nor'easters extend their record to 9-4 (5-1 CCC).
Nichols was unable to keep UNE off the glass all afternoon, as the Bison were out-rebounded 67-35. Nichols was within striking distance after the first half but a strong second half performance from the Nor'easters put the game out of reach.
Kiera Fernandes led the Bison in scoring with 17 points on 6-13 shooting. Fernandez also added 6 rebounds to her stat line.
Abrianna Vazquez chipped in 12 points of her own.
Nichols looks to get back in the win column on Tuesday night when they take on Endicott in a CCC matchup at the Nichols Athletic Center.
