Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dottin Leads Nichols Past Suffolk, 90-76

Boston, Mass. - Behind 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists from Jakigh Dottin, the Nichols College men's basketball team secured a big Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Suffolk on Thursday night. With the win, the Bison improve to 7-5 (3-2 CCC) on the season, while the Rams fall to 6-6 (1-4 CCC). Thanks to his scoring performance at Smith Court, Dottin surpassed the 1,000 collegiate point milestone.

After a back-and-forth first 7 minutes, the Bison went on a 14-0 run and never looked back. Dottin and teammate Ty Rucker set the tone early offensively, with 14 and 13 points in the first half. The Bison dominated both ends of the floor in the half, shooting 50% from the field, while also forcing 8 Suffolk turnovers.

The Rams fought their way back to within 11 early in the second half, but another big run by the Bison put the game out of reach with under 10 minutes to play. Tavon Jones added 12 points of his own in the half while shooting 100% from the free-throw line.

Nate Duckworth was Nichols' second leading score with 17 points, shooting 5-6 from three. Jones and Rucker each finished the game with 16 points each.

Up next for the Bison is another CCC contest against the University of New England on Saturday, January 7 at 3 p.m.
