NEW LONDON, Conn. – No. 15 Connecticut College scored four unanswered goals over a 9:43 span of the third period to erase a 1-0 Nichols lead, handing the Bison a 4-1 loss on Tuesday night at Dayton Arena. With the setback, Nichols fell to 5-14-1. The Camels, who hopped back into the USCHO's Division III Women's Poll on Monday, advanced to 10-7-1.
Grace Melanson broke the scoring open 8:45 into the first period when the junior center snuck a loose puck at the top of the crease through the legs of Connecticut College's Eun-Bee Huh to put the Bison up early.
In the second period, Nichols' netminder
Victoria Bakopanos made 17 saves to keep the Camels at bay and keep the Bison up by a goal at the second intermission.
With 12:21 to play in the third, Connecticut College tied the game at 1-1 on a Kelly Matthews strike. Matthews would go ahead and score her second goal, the eventual game-winning goal, 8:23 later.
