DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols field hockey program fell to Roger Williams University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, 4-0, Friday night at Vendetti Field.
The Bison (5-5, 1-2 CCC) held off the Hawks (6-3, 1-2 CCC) for the first 42 minutes before Ella Waryas broke the tie at the end of the third quarter. Goals by Chelsea King, Kelly Doherty, and Sara Carney in the fourth cemented the win for the Hawks.
Nichols drew 14 corners in the match, with eight of them coming in the second frame. Senior goalkeeper
Megan Fuchs recorded 13 saves on the contest, her second-highest mark of the season. Senior midfielder
Erin Anthony led the squad with three shots.
The Bison return to action Sunday, October 2, for a non-conference matchup against Springfield College at 1:00 p.m. at Stagg Field in Springfield, Mass.
