Nichols Women's Soccer - Post-Game Comments - Sept. 15 vs. Suffolk
DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols women's soccer program defeated Suffolk University, 3-2, Thursday afternoon in their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) season opener at the Nichols Soccer Field.
The two teams played even for over 30 minutes before sophomore
Alana Snow found the back of the net for her first career goal, taking the Bison into the half with a 1-0 lead.
Suffolk struck first in the second half when junior Klaudia Rushi tied the game three minutes into the half. Eighteen minutes later, sophomore Kylie Perron gave the Rams a 2-1 lead.
Following the goal, graduate student
Maegan Roy entered the match, and fifteen seconds later, tied the game on a pass from junior
Grace Killman.
With time winding down, the two teams went back and forth trading shots. At the 88:14 mark, a strike by Killman found the goal, with sophomore
Emily Feisthamel getting the assist.
The win marks the first CCC win for the Bison (3-2-0. 1-0-0 CCC) since 2019, and their first win against Suffolk (1-3-1, 0-1-0 CCC) in program history.
The Bison hit the road on Tuesday, September 20, to face Emmanuel at 7:00 p.m. in non-conference action at Roberto Clemente Field in Boston, Mass.
