SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The No. 7 seed Nichols College softball team saw its 2022 season come to a close with a 10-0 loss to No. 3 University of New England Friday afternoon in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Playoffs at Golden Bear Park.

Freshman Chloe Steiniger picked up two of the three hits for the Bison (14-23) while senior Samantha Kostek also hit safely. Junior Alyssa Ouellette took the loss in the circle as she allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) in 2.1 innings of work.  

The contest marked the final game for longtime Nichols head coach Kristan Mallet, who finishes her career with the second-most wins in program history at 136.
