DUDLEY, Mass. – Freshman
Adrian Toderascu picked wins in singles and doubles to help the top-seeded Nichols College men's tennis team to a 5-1 win over No. 4 Wentworth Institute of Technology in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinal action at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
Toderascu teamed with sophomore
Steven Kuang for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and later secured a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. Sophomore
Caio Dieckmann and freshman
Moritz Kern were 8-0 winners at No. 3 doubles, which gave the Bison a 2-1 edge heading into singles action.
Toderascu's singles win earned Nichols its third point of the match and graduate student
Sam Kluger's 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles put the Bison on the brink of victory. Freshman
Jose Siles sealed the win with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 5 singles.
The Bison will try and earn their 12th conference championship this Saturday when they host No. 2 Roger Williams at 3 p.m.
