Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Bison set program-record for wins with 10-9 triumph over UNE

DUDLEY, Mass. – Senior Elizabeth Luster scored the game-winning goal with 2:33 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Nichols College women's lacrosse team to a 10-9 win over the University of New England Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Vendetti Field.

Freshman Hadley Houghton potted four goals for the Bison – including her 40th of the season – and added two assists as the Bison moved to 8-2 on the season (2-0 CCC). The eight wins breaks the previous single-season record of seven, set during the 2012 and 2014 campaigns. The also marks the first for Nichols over the Nor'easters (1-9, 0-3 CCC) since April 4, 2007, snapping a 12-game losing skid that culminated with a 22-3 loss during the last meeting in 2019.

Luster and classmate Sam Ahaesy each found the back of the net twice for Nichols while Houghton also collected six ground balls and one three draw controls – one off freshman McKenzie Muir's team-leading four. Sophomore goaltender Keri Tremblay caused three turnovers and turned aside 11 shots to move to 3-0 on the season.
