Isaac Blanford drove in the go-ahead runs in the top of the 10th inning to propel the Nichols College baseball team to a 13-11 win at Trinity (CT) College Wednesday afternoon at Murren/DiBenedetto Field.
Senior
DJ Caron picked up four hits – including a two-run single in the fourth – and scored three runs while sophomore
Johnny Knox smacked a two-run home run and finished the day with three RBI as the Bison won their fifth in a row to even their mark at 11-11-1.
Junior
Will Kleinhenz notched three hits and drew a bases-loaded walk for Nichols, which pounded out 20 hits. Senior
Victor Valentin ripped an RBI triple, and junior
Brad Ellis and sophomore
Brennan Hyde each collected an RBI single.
Senior
Brendan Duffy got the win in relief to move to 2-3 on the season. Freshman
Sean Ryan worked the final two innings to earn his first collegiate save, allowing one run while striking out three.
