BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Nichols College men's ice hockey team saw its season come to a close with a 4-1 loss at the University of New England Wednesday night in the Semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament at Harold Alfond Forum.
Freshman
Nathan Carl picked up his seventh goal of the season for the Bison, who close their first full season under head coach
Mike Parnell with a record of 8-16-1. The top-seeded Nor'easters (20-3-1) outshot the Bison 44-18 and improved to 4-0-0 against NC this season.
Junior netminder
Korbinian Lutz allowed three goals and finished the night with 40 saves. UNE broke a 1-1 tie with two goals in the opening 4:20 of the second period and later sealed the win with an empty-netter late in the third.
The contest marked the final for Nichols seniors
