MILTON, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team closed the regular season with an 82-77 loss to Curry College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Katz Gymnasium.
Sophomore
Abrianna Vazquez led the Bison with 22 points and a game-high 11 assists, which ties her with former head coach MaryLynn Skarzenski for the second-highest single game total in NC history. Classmate
Summer Klein knocked down eight of her 12 field goal attempts and closed the afternoon with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Junior
Leandra Ortiz (11 points) and senior
Jillian Spillane (10 points) also reach double-figures in scoring for Nichols. The Bison (9-16, 5-13 CCC) outrebounded 50-43 but converted 21 turnovers into 20 points as Klein led the Bison with three steals.
Curry (4-21, 1-17 CCC) shot 44 percent from the field and won despite going just 17-of-29 from the charity stripe (59 percent).
