DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols men's basketball team dropped an 87-67 decision to Roger Williams on Wednesday night in its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener at the Nichols Athletic Center. The Bison, who were receiving votes in the latest D3Hoops.com Top 25 National Poll, fall to 4-3 on the season while the Hawks advanced to 3-2.
In the first half,
Tavon Jones led the Bison with 10 points and five rebounds, but the visitors led by three at the halftime break. Nate Lopes paced the visitors with 13 points in the opening frame as Roger Williams held its 39-36 lead at the half.
Mac Annus packed on 17 second half points for the Hawks, shooting 7-for-11 in the second to help boost his team to a 20-point victory in its first CCC win of the campaign.
The Bison will hit the road for their final three contests of the first semester, beginning with a road matchup with Gordon on Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
