WORCESTER, Mass. - The Nichols men's hockey program opened the season with a decisive 4-1 win over Anna Maria College in the first round of the Worcester Mayor's Cup Friday night at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.
Freshman
Ike Frankel opened the scoring for the Bison (1-0-0), sending a pass from sophomore
Luke Harvie into the back of the net in the first five minutes of the first period, picking up his first career goal. Just about three minutes later, sophomore
Kaiden Scott buried a power play goal, assisted by classmate
Josh Dickson and senior
Conor Leonard.
Anna Maria (0-1-0) struck first in the second period, slipping a goal past Bison sophomore netminder
Tyler Bost. The 2-1 score would not hold for long, as junior

Dickson rounded out the scoring with 1:24 left to play in the third period, sending a clearing pass out of the zone that found the empty net. Bost was credited with his first career assist on the goal.
Bost recorded 57 saves, a career high, on the night as the Bison held the AmCats to 0-6 on the power play.
