Women's Soccer Soars Past Seahawks on #Forever27 Night

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols women's soccer program defeated Salve Regina University, 2-1, Saturday evening at Vendetti Field.

The Bison (7-6-1, 2-4-0 CCC) opened the scoring halfway through the first half when junior Grace Killman was awarded a penalty kick.

The Seahawks (5-9-1, 2-3-1 CCC) tied up the match just under ten minutes later.

With just over three minutes remaining in the second half, freshman Falyn Hunt buried a clear by senior Emma Noel, which proved to be the game winner.

The Bison defensive unit of graduate student Maddie Clark, seniors Niah Samboy and Noel, and freshman goalkeeper Saige Frazier stifled the Seahawk offense, stopping multiple breakaways.

Prior to the match, the women's soccer program remembered the life and legacy of former player Hallie Linacre, a member of the class of 2021 who passed away during her time at Nichols. The team donned special #Forever27 jerseys that featured a picture of Linacre on the back.

The Bison will take a break from conference play on Monday, October 17, as they travel to South Hadley, Mass. to face Mount Holyoke College at 5:00 p.m. at the MHC Soccer Field.
