DUDLEY, Mass. – Sophomore
Abrianna Vazquez dropped in a game-high 29 points in Nichols College's 82-71 loss to No. 25 Roger Williams University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
Vazquez – who scored 29 against Suffolk on Tuesday and 27 against Curry on Thursday – also picked up three steals, three rebounds, and three dimes for the Bison (6-7, 2-4 CCC). Junior
Leandra Ortiz scored 14 points and snared eight boards while senior
Jillian Spillane continued her solid play as she went for 10 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes of action.
The Bison shot 33 percent from the field and were outrebounded 65-47. Nichols entered the contest averaging close to 35 forced turnovers/game, but the Hawks (10-0, 5-0 CCC) committed just 11 and saw four student-athletes reach double-figures in scoring, led by Caroline Elie with 19 points to go with nine boards.
