SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College saw a total of 62 student-athletes earn 2021
Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and
CCC Football Fall Academic All-Conference honors.
The Bison had 17 student-athletes on the CCC Football Academic Team. Seniors
Daniel Sweeney (Accounting) and
Kevin Diaz (General Business) led the way for the Bison. Juniors
Julian Ortiz (Sport Management),
Chris Copponi (Sport Management),
Cal Capozzi (Sport Management),
Matt Cahalin (Sports Management), and
Elijah Brown (Criminology) were joined by sophomores
James Anderson (Accounting),
Cameron Bowden (Sport Management),
Keegan Choate (undecided),
Keenan Esau (Management),
David Harding (General Business),
Mike Maslauskas (Sport Management),
Xavier Powell (Psychology),
Brandon Rudolph (Communications),
Topher Ryan (Business Management), and
Joshua Vitti (Sport Management).
Eleven members from the women's volleyball team garnered recognition. Seniors
Jayleen Fegan (General Business),
Regan Richard (Marketing),
Lindsey Rugg (Economics & Marketing),
Rachael Veilleux (HR Management), and
Emily Tinyszin (Accounting, Finance, & International Business) earned All-Academic honors. Junior
Abigail Mayuri (Criminal Justice) and sophomores
Jenna Savoie (General Business
), Madison Perrotti (International Business),
Megan Hendrickson (Psychology),
Haylee Granato (International Business), and
Heather Gauvin (General Business) also made the team.
The men's soccer program saw eight student-athletes selected to the academic team, led by senior
Matt Rainsford (Accounting). Juniors
Jon Christy (Sport Management),
Nikolas Padilla (Finance and General Business), and
Dawson Quint (General Business) were flanked by sophomores
Ethan Gosper (Sport Management),
Daniel Halliman (General Business),
Miron Jusufi (General Business), and
Andrew Skowronek (undecided).
Seven members of the women's tennis team received CCC Academic honors: seniors
Kara Stankewitz (Marketing) and
Victoria Lussier (Hospitality Management) were joined by juniors
IsaBella Winter (English) and
Victoria Palkon (International Business). Sophomores
Kelley Carlin (General Business),
Jordan Knowles (Finance), and
Cristen McSweeney (Accounting) earned all-academic honors as well.
Seven members of the men's cross country team were named to the squad: seniors
David Foster (Sport Management) and
Samuel Paiva (General Business), juniors
Deegan Eggleston (Criminal Justice & Psychology),
Chadwick Fischer (History), and
Gregory Raso (Sport Management), and sophomores
Jack Pudlo (Sport Management & Content Creation) and
Domenic Savastano (Criminal Justice).
The Bison's women's soccer team had six student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. Junior
Amanda Simco (Management & Human Resources) was accompanied by sophomores
Jenna Condon (Finance),
Grace Killman (Marketing),
Emma Norton (Business Management),
Rajchel Smardon (Criminal Psychology), and
Madeleine Soudant (Psychology & English).
Four members of the field hockey team were named to the squad, all of whom are juniors:

Mackenzie Doran (Management),
Abigail Karalus (Marketing), and
Hailey Meader (Psychology & Criminal Justice).
The women's cross country team had two student-athletes named to the all-academic team: senior
Jayme Dowd (International Business) and junior
Taylor LaBouef (Marketing).
A record 751 student-athletes from the Commonwealth Coast Conference's 10 institutions were recognized – including 183 who compete in football. All student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 and be a sophomore academically to be eligible for the team.
