DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's tennis team knocked off Roger Williams University 6-3 Saturday morning in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Homecoming Weekend at the Robinson Tennis Courts.
The Bison (6-1, 4-0 CCC) won two of the three doubles matches as sophomore
Kelley Carlin and freshman
Antonia Carrero were 8-3 winners at No. 2 doubles while sophomore
Jordan Knowles and freshman
Bethany Prendergast won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Carrero scored a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles to move to 7-0 on the season. Senior
Kara Stankewitz moved to 5-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles while freshmen
Johanna Schroeder (6-1, 6-1) and
Camila Magrin (7-5, 6-0) were winners at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively.
Nichols sits atop the CCC standings, one win ahead of Endicott (3-1 in conference play).
