Nichols scores 33 in sweep of Roger Williams on Senior Day

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College baseball team ran its win streak to four by taking a pair of non-conference contests from Roger Williams University Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the Nichols Baseball Field. The Bison hit four home runs on the day, which extended their single-season team record to 29.

Game One: Bison 21, Hawks 7

Senior Nathaniel Cormier roped a bases-clearing double and finished 4-for-6 with five RBI, and both graduate student Kyle Bouchard and junior DJ Caron hit two home runs; Bouchard finished with four hits and five RBI. In the process, Bouchard moved into sole possession of the single-season home run record at Nichols with 12. Graduate student Jack Arend added a two-run jack as the Bison pounded out 22 hits, which was more than enough run support for graduate student Jack DiCenso. In six innings of work, Dicenso allowed four hits and three runs while striking out seven.

Game Two: Bison 12, Hawks 6

Graduate student Christian Naccari hit his sixth home run of the season and drove in three for Nichols. Bouchard plated a pair and, along with Naccari, Caron, and freshmen Brennan Hyde and Victor Valentin, finished with two hits each. Senior Justin Hurley started on the bump and fanned three in four innings. Junior Owen Sullivan came on in relief and struck out six in three scoreless inning of work to pick up his first win of 2021.
