Khaylin Hatcher each scored goals for the Nichols College women's soccer team in a 3-2 loss to Elms College Sunday morning at Vendetti Field.
Samboy opened the scoring at 8:09 of he match when she junior
Maddie Clark sent a free kick into the box and Samboy knocked it past Blazers keeper Hannah DelGuidice. After Morgan Foucault evened the score at one on a breakaway at 43:56, Hatcher was awarded a penalty kick and tucked her shot inside the left post less than 90 seconds later. Goals from Elaina Vilar at 47:20 and Forcault at 66:50 capped the scoring.
Freshman netminder
Madeleine Soudant recorded six saves in her collegiate debut for the Bison. DelGuidice finished her afternoon with four saves before being lifted in save of Erin Berthiaume in the second period. She did not record a save in victory.
The Blazers outshot the Bison – who played one down in the first of three 30-minute periods – by a count of 19-7. Prior to the start of the contest, Nichols honored seniors
Carley Pedruczny and the late
Hallie Linacre.
