Fighting Scots string fourth quarter sinks Bison

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College women's basketball team was defeated by Gordon College 75-53 Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.

Freshman Abrianna Vazquez paced the Bison with 21 points (9-of-11 FT) to go with three assists while senior Isabella Nerney chipped in with 11 points, three boards, two dimes and two steals. Classmate Shannon St. Lawrence collected nine points and seven rebounds.

The Fighting Scots shot 47 percent from the field – including 10-of-11 in the fourth quarter, when they outscored the Bison 27-11 to pull away. Abby Vampatella led all student-athletes with 22 points (9-of-13 FG) while Caleigh Williams picked up a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
