Junior
Isabella Nerney poured in 25 points as the Nichols College women's basketball team lost to Gordon College 71-57 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Athletic Center in Dudley, Massachusetts.
The Bison saw Nerney shoot 8-of-18 from the field, while also dropping in a game-high six dimes (6-of-12). The junior guard also added in four steals on the defensive to lead the Bison. Freshman
Alexis Finnerty scored 10-points for the Bison to go along with five rebounds and a steal. Junior
Shannon St. Lawrence snagged a team-high seven rebounds, while scoring four points.
The Fighting Scots saw Meghan Foley lead the way with a 21 point, 10 rebound double-double, while adding in three assists and three steals. Serianna Anderson also eclipsed the 20 point mark pouring in 20 points, while collecting six balls of the glass and two assists. Gordon saw one other student-athlete score in double-figures, Sarah Gibbs, who shot 5-of-7 from the field and scoring 13 points to go with nine rebounds.
The Bison kept the game close, going into the break with only a four point deficit. However, the fighting Scots went on to outscore the Bison in the second half 34-24 to pull away with the 71-57 season finale victory.
