Bison complete reverse sweep (again) in tri-match sweep

Recap
The Nichols College men's volleyball team swept a tri-match at Emmanuel (MA) College on Saturday afternoon, rallying from an 0-2 hole to defeat the Saints in five before blanking St. Joseph's (Brkln) 3-0 in non-conference action.

Sophomore Ray Wang picked up a career-high 26 points against the Saints (4-9) and posted a solid .315 hitting percentage. Classmate Lance Law threw down 14 kills to go with 11 digs as the Bison won sets three (25-17), four (25-22), and five (15-12) to complete the reverse sweep. Senior Kevin Keohane handed out a career-high 51 assists while graduate student Andre Foster chipped in with nine kills, three service aces, three digs, and three blocks.

Sophomore Nick Vermette and freshman Jake Harasyko each racked up 11 kills against the Bears (2-7), who dropped sets one 25-13, set two 25-10, and set three 25-15. Freshman Ethan Powers saw his most extensive playing time of the season and registered seven kills (.700 hitting pct.) and classmate Nicholas Basco handed out 25 assists.

Three things you need to know...
-Today's match marked the third all-time meeting between Nichols College and Emmanuel (MA) College, and the first between the Bison and Bears. Nichols now leads the all-time series with the Saints, 2-1.
-The Bison – who did not play a five-set match during their inaugural season of varsity competition in 2019 – have now played two in less than 72 hours. In both instances, they rallied from an 0-2 deficit to score a 3-2 win.
-Junior Sammy Saintilus appeared in two sets against the Bears and posted a perfect 1.000 hitting pct. (three kills).

Quote
"Winning both matches today was a great way to end a good week. We came out of the gates slow against Emmanuel and really had to claw our way back to win in five. Ethan Powers had a big impact off the bench in that match. We had some really quality performances from our freshmen in the second match to finish strong." -Nichols head coach John Post
