Sophomore netminder Brett Epp stopped all 26 shots he saw to record his second collegiate shutout as the Bison moved to 9-11-2 (6-7-2 CCC) on the season and solidified a postseason berth for the 15th consecutive season (11 ECAC Northeast, four CCC). The Bison struck for three goals in the opening 11:28 of the contest as sophomore Curtis Carlson, senior Nicholas Mangone, and junior Nate Foster each found the back of the net. Leonard's goal at 14:49 of the second pushed the lead to 4-0 before sophomore Kyle McDonald potted his second of the season in the third.

Nichols outshot the Hawks (5-16-1, 2-12-1 CCC) by a 48-26 margin.

Quote
"We set a goal to make the playoffs and, with tonight's win, we have accomplished that goal. I'm very happy for Epp and Leonard, two student-athletes who have been working extremely hard. I'm glad we were rewarded for our effort tonight and we'll get back to work tomorrow." -Nichols assistant coach Michael Parnell
