Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Jumbos too much for Bison

Recap
Sophomore Matt Morrow scored a season-high 26 points and snared a career-high 23 rebounds in a 75-65 loss to Tufts University Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action at the Nichols Athletic Center.

Sophomore Jaekwon Spencer chipped in with 14 points for the Bison (7-4), who committed an uncharacteristically-high 19 turnovers and shot just 30 percent in the second half. Senior DeAnte Bruton faced constant double teams on the afternoon and was held to nine points on 3-of-16 shooting.

Eric Savage and Luke Rogers each scored 13 points to pace the Jumbos (10-2). Rogers also grabbed a team-leading 14 rebounds while both Savage and Carsen Cohen collected three steals each.

Tufts finished the contest shooting 38 percent from the field and 69 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-29). Nichols converted 70 percent of its attempts from the line and shot 34 percent on the day.

Three things you need to know...
-Today's contest marked the third all-time meeting between Tufts University and Nichols College. The Bison now lead the series, 2-1.
-Morrow's career-high is 28 points, which came against Salve Regina University on January 26, 2019.  His previous best in rebounds was 21 against Endicott on December 1, 2018.
-Morrow's 23 boards equals the fourth-highest single-game total in program history, joining Bob Payton (at Barrington, January 14, 1972) & Mark Love (vs Bridgewater St., 1969-70 season).
