Nichols drops two in New Hampshire

The Nichols College men's volleyball team suffered a pair of 3-1 losses to Medaille College and Rivier College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action in Nashua, N.H.
 
Sophomore Ray Wang picked up 14 kills and 10 digs against the Mavericks while classmate Lance Law notched 11. Senior Oscar Chavez registered 12 digs and senior Kevin Keohane dished out 23 assists for the Bison (1-2), who won game one, 28-26, before dropping game two, 25-22, game three, 25-21, and game four, 25-22.
 
Against the Raiders, Wang led all student-athletes with 12 kills while freshman Jake Harasyko posted a .417 hitting pct. (six kills) to go with eight digs. Rivier won game one 25-22 before the Bison pulled even with a 25-21 win in game two. The Raiders went on to close out the match with wins in game three (25-9) and game four (25-15).
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Today's matches marked the first-ever meeting against both Medaille and Rivier.
            -Nichols posted a .318 hitting percentage in their opening set win over the Mavericks – their best in eight sets on the day. Medaille had a hitting pct. of .239 against NC while Rivier racked up a .250 hitting pct.
            -Wang, Law, and freshman Matthew Zawistowski each tallied three service aces against Medaille.
