Dana Edwards and freshman
Mackenzie Doran each scored twice to lift the Nichols College field hockey team to a 4-2 win at Lasell College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Grellier Field.

Edwards netted a pair of goals in the first 19:11 of the contest to stake the Bison (3-1) to a 2-1. The Blazers got one back before the half to make it 2-1 before knotting the score 50 seconds into the second half.

Doran's second collegiate goal less than eight minutes later put ahead for good. She added an insurance tally late in the third quarter.

Brooke Misbach turned aside seven shots to record her third win of 2019. The Lasers (1-2) outshot the Bison 16-14.

Three things you need to know...
            -Today's contest marked the 11th all-time meeting between Nichols College and Lasell College. The Bison have won four of the last five meetings and lead the series, 9-2.
            -Edwards – who did not play last season – scored her first goal since October 25, 2017 against Salve Regina.
            -Nichols is off to a 3-1 start for the second consecutive season.
