Freshman Nicholas Gonyea scored his first two collegiate goals in Nichols College's 3-0 shutout of Anna Maria College Thursday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action at Vendetti Field.
 
Junior Ali Ali netted his third goal of the season for the Bison, who moved to 4-2-1 on the season. Sophomores James Chasco-Dimaro and Ryan Mangan, along with freshman Nikolas Padilla, each collected an assist.
 
Senior Juan Carlos De La Cruz recorded four saves to earn his fourth win of the season and second shutout.
 
Three things you need to know…
            -Today's contest marked the 32nd all-time meeting between Nichols College and Anna Maria College. The have now won two-straight and eight of the last nine, and lead the series 24-6-2.
            -Gonyea is the first Bison freshman to score two goals in a game since Ryan Fraleigh against Lasell on September 18, 2017.
            -Nichols held a 29-8 edge in shots – including a 16-1 advantage in the first half.
