The Nichols College men's lacrosse team defeated Salve Regina 9-6 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) game at Gaudet Field in Middletown, Rhode Island.
Nichols College (6-4, 2-2 CCC) received two goals apiece from sophomore
Brendan Coates and freshman
Hunter Ferreira, both with goals in the first quarter to propel the Bison out to a 2-0 lead after the first quarter. Ferreira deposited his second goal at the 3:13 mark in the second quarter as he helped Nichols go into the half with a 5-1 advantage over the Seahawks (5-3, 2-1 CCC).
The Seahawks received two goals apiece from sophomore Pat Leary and junior Ethan Robson to pace their offense. Nichols senior goalie
Brian McKinley received his sixth win of the year after stopping 21 shots. Fellow goalie freshman Mike Sullivan turned aside 10 Bison shots.

Three things you need to know…
-McKinley's 21 saves is a season-high for him, his previous high was 20 saves against Emerson on March 12.
-Nichols was 2-for-7 on extra man up opportunities.
-Today's game marked the 21st all-time meeting between the two programs, Nichols has now won the two of the last three matchups.
