Freshman Ray Wang threw down nine kills in Nichols College's 3-0 loss at No. 12 Elms College Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action in Chicopee, Mass.
 
Freshman and reigning NECC Rookie of the Week Lance Law added seven kills as the Bison (13-9, 7-4 NECC) lost game one 25-12, game two 25-16, and game three 25-18. Freshman Luis Castro picked up 16 assists and five digs while senior Andre Foster notched three kills, two blocks, and one dig.
 
Sophomores Jovanny and Jeremy Torres combined for 27 kills, 14 digs, and four service aces to pace the Blazers (23-4, 9-1 NECC). Elms posted a .387 hitting pct. and saw senior John Dunphy dish out 22 assists.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -The Bison currently occupy the No. 3 spot in the standings entering the final week of the regular season and are in line to host a first-round playoff matchup on Tuesday, April 2.
            -Jeremy Torres (3.74) and Jovanny Torres (3.66 kills) are 1-2 in the conference in kills/set. Wang (3.50) and Law (3.18) are No. 3 and 5, respectively.
            -Castro continues to lead the NECC in assists/set at 8.55.
