The Nichols College women's lacrosse team was defeated by the University of New England 22-3 Sunday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Vendetti Field.
 
Junior 
Miranda Smith scored twice for the Bison (2-4, 0-1 CCC) while senior 
Kirsten Sullivan potted her 18th goal of the season. Nichols was outshot 51-13 and saw junior 
Emily Eagan record a season-high 20 saves.
 
Senior Nichole Carvalho led the Nor'easters (4-4, 1-0 CCC) with six goals while sophomores Keara Dwyer (3-2-5) and Julia Benjamin (1-4-5) each collected four points.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -UNE forced 27 turnovers as the Bison were 8-of-21 on clears.
            -Senior 
Brooke Downey led the Bison with five ground balls.
            -Freshman 
Claire Matlak won five draw controls to lead Nichols.
