The Nichols College women's ice hockey team was defeated by
Morrisville State 4-2 Saturday evening in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Semifinals at Raymond J.
Bourque Arena on the campus of Endicott College.
Morrisville St. (16-8-2) came out strong scoring two goals in the opening period including a power-play goal. Mackenzie Lombardi opened up the scoring with a goal at the 14:19 mark in the first period before teammate Tessa Dobson extended the Mustangs lead to 2-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the first period. Seven minutes into the second period the Mustangs made it 3-0 when Kylie Cameron notched her 12th goal of the season with assists from Maddison Devlin and Alexziz Giannamore.
The Bison (14-9-3) fought back in the second period collecting a power-play goal from sophomore
Jordyn McGuire followed by a goal from freshman
Alicia Hunks to cut the Mustangs lead to just 3-2. The third period was quite from the offensive standpoint before the Mustangs extended their lead to 4-2 with Lombardis second goal of the game.
