Nor'easters knock back Bison

Recap
The Nichols College women's basketball team lost to UNE 76-46 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon in Biddeford, Maine.

The Bison (4-19, 2-12 CCC) were led by senior Mekaela Fithian-Giantonio who dropped in a team-high 12 points (4-of-15 FG) along with a team-high five assists. Sophomore Isabella Nerney put up nine points (3-of-10 FG) with all three buckets coming from behind the arc, she also collected four rebounds and three assists in the loss. Nichols junior Ciarri Formby-Lavertu picked up a team-high eight rebounds to go along with four assists.

The Nor'easters (13-11, 11-4 CCC) had four student-athletes score in double figures; Abby Cavallaro (19), Sadie Nelson (17), Jocelyn Chaput (16) and Ashley Coneys (10). Cavallaro scored 15 of her 19 points via the three-pointer, shooting 5-8 from behind the arc helping UNE shoot 30.4% from behind the arc as a whole.
 
Three things you need to know…
-Nerney's three 3-pointers put her at 52 made on the season which is good for fifth all-time for a single season
-Despite the loss the Bison outrebounded the Nor'easters 38-35.
-This was the 31st all-time meeting between the two programs.
