Seahawks score late to defeat Bison

Senior Maggie Noelk and freshman Erin Anthony both scored their first goals of the season in Nichols College's 4-3 loss to Salve Regina University Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey action at Vendetti Field.
 
Senior Erin Kelley also scored for the Bison (5-12, 2-10 CCC) while senior Brooke Misbach recorded four saves in the final game of her collegiate career. Ashley Cody scored a pair for the Seahawks (11-6, 6-5 CCC).
 
The Seahawks led 2-0 after one before goals from Kelley and Noelk 5:03 apart in the second knotted the score at two. Anthony's first collegiate marker less than two minutes into the third gave the Bison their first lead of the night at 3-2.
 
In the fourth, junior Tori Bickel tied the game with her eighth marker of 2019. Sophomore Eliza Timms then netted the game-winner with 25 seconds left in regulation.
 
Three things you need to know...
            -Misbach finishes her career with 654 saves, which is No. 2 all-time at Nichols. Gaelyn Sibbald (1994-97) tops the list with 811.
            -Kelley scored a career-high six goals in 2019 and closes her career with 21 goals in 72 games.
            -Freshman Mackenzie Doran posted a team-leading 23 points (9-5-23 while junior Lizz McKinnon was one behind at 22 – including a team-leading 10 goals.
