Chardae Saunders each threw down seven kills in Nichols College's 3-1 loss at the University of New England Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action at Harry Alfond Forum.
Fegan also added 16 digs while classmate
Rachael Veilleux posted 25 assists and 15 digs and freshman
Allyson Tuxbury tallied 11 digs, five kills, and three service aces.
The Nor'easters (12-1, 3-0 CCC) captured game one 25-13 and game two 25-18. The Bison (7-7, 0-3 CCC) rallied back to steal game three 25-21 before falling in the fourth game, 25-17.
In the third set, Fegan and senior
Megan Gardner combined for six kills. Veilleux and freshman
Madison Perrotti each collected four digs while Veilleux handed out six assists.
Three things you need to know...
-The Bison's win in the third set marked their first-ever over UNE in the program's fourth season of varsity competition.
-Nichols recorded an assist on 31 of its 32 kills.
-The Bison posted a season-high 10 blocks (two solo), led by Gardner with three.
