Junior Maggie Noelk scored her first goal of the season midway through the second half as the Nichols College field hockey team scored a 2-1 win at Anna Maria College Thursday evening.
 
Sophomore Lizz McKinnon scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season as the Bison moved to 4-1 with the win. Senior Courteney White and junior Erin Kelley collected assists for NC while senior Brooke Misbach stopped two shots to earn her fourth win of 2018.
 
McKinnon scored the only goal of the first half at the 18:00 mark with an assist going to White. At 54:18 of the second half, Noelk's second collegiate goal doubled the lead before Allyson Shaw spoiled Misbach's shutout bid with 1:19 remaining in regulation.
 
Three things you need to know...
                - The Bison held a slim 9-7 edge in shots and received seven corners, compared to five for the AMCats.
                -Noelk scored her first collegiate goal against Anna Maria on October 6, 2016.
                -The win snaps a two-game losing skid to Anna Maria and the Bison now lead the all-time series, 20-17-1.
