Junior Megan Gardner collected 11 kills for the Nichols College women's volleyball team, which opened its season with a 3-0 setback to WPI Friday night in non-conference action at the Nichols Athletic Center.
 
Senior Moriah Burns added three kills for the Bison (0-1) while freshman Jayleen Fegan notched the first two kills of her collegiate career. The Engineers won game one 25-10, game two 25-14, and game three 25-19.
 
Freshman Rachael Veilleux dished out eight assists for NC while Fegan picked up six digs. The match marked the collegiate coaching debut for first-year Nichols head coach John Post.
 
Three things you need to know…
-Freshmen Emily Tinyszin, Regan Richard, Sophie Czerepica, and Shannon Anthony all made their collegiate debuts tonight for the Bison.
-Sophomore Amanda Wetmore, freshman Suela Miloshi, and junior Colleen Mullins each notched six kills to lead WPI (1-0).
-Senior Azita Bakhtyari handed out a match-high 26 assists for the Engineers.
