WENHAM, Mass. – The Nichols College men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play with a 9-0 sweep of Gordon College on Saturday afternoon in Wenham, Mass.
The Bison improve to 13-2 overall and 5-0 in the CCC with the win, while the Fighting Scots drop to 5-9 and 2-3 in league matches. Nichols is back in action tomorrow as half the team will travel to Connecticut College for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Camels, while the other half will take on the University of Southern Maine at 2:00 p.m. at the Pomfret School.

Igor Markowski grabbed the first point of the day for the Bison with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles over sophomore Jonathan Frink and junior Kristopher Marineau. Junior

August Moeller followed with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles over senior Mason Casady and junior Nathan Lookwhy, while sophomores
Guilherme Barbosa and
Peter Coletti put the Bison ahead 3-0 with an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles over seniors Mike D'Antuono and Peter Godwin.
Sophomore
Jack Donaldson opened up singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles over freshman Will Jeffreys, while Norton defeated Frink, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3 singles to seal the match. Moeller followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Godwin at No. 5 singles, with freshman
Brandon Stewart defeating D'Antuono, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Howard added a 6-4, 6-2 win over Casady at the top singles spot to make it an 8-0 lead.
Barbosa rounded out the match in a three-set battle with Lookwhy, coming out on top 6-2, 4-6, 11-9 at No. 2 singles.
