SALEM, Mass. – The Nichols College men's lacrosse program improved to 4-0 with a convincing 11-2 win over Salem State University Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Junior
Casey Campanale paced the offense with six points (2-4-6) while senior
MacKenzie Martin collected four points (3-1-4) and both graduate student
Reece O'Connor and freshman
Brendan Coates each found the back of the net twice. The Bison outshot the Vikings 39-22.
Nichols held a 7-0 lead at halftime behind two goals from Martin and four assists from Campanale. The Bison extended their lead to 10-0 behind tallies from O'Connor, Campanale, and senior
Jack Zaremski before the Vikings finally got on the board with 6:10 remaining in the fourth.
Sophomore
Pat Nally was credited with a team-high four ground balls for NC. Senior goaltender
Brian McKinley recorded 14 saves to move to 4-0 on the season.
All-Time Series
Today's contest marked the ninth all-time meeting between Nichols College and Salem State University. The Vikings lead the series, 5-4, however the Bison have won three of the last four contests, outscoring them 21-8 in the last two.
