NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Nichols College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-6 decision to Colby-Sawyer College on Thursday afternoon in a non-league matchup in New London, N.H.
The Bison (1-4) return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Curry for a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup with the Colonels scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Junior 
McKayla Pratte led the Bison attack with two goals on the day, while sophomore 
Danielle Kozloski, freshman 
Lizz McKinnon, senior 
Lindsay O'Connell, and sophomore 
Miranda Smith added the goals for the Bison.
Defensively, McKinnon, O'Connell, junior 
Kirsten Sullivan, and senior 
Mellissa LaFleur scooped up groundballs, while LaFleur caused a pair of caused turnovers, with freshman 
McKenna Gernander also causing a turnover. McKinnon and O'Connell had two draw controls apiece, with Kozloski and LaFleur also grabbed draw controls.
Sophomore 
Emily Eagan recorded 22 saves in goal for the Bison in the setback.
The Chargers (4-3) were led by five goals apiece from senior Nicole Lavigne and freshman Briana Couture, who also added an assist. Sophomore Kailyn Lapham picked up the win, making six saves.
Colby-Sawyer held a 46-21 advantage in shots on the day, while also holding a lead in groundballs (14-4) and draw controls (19-6). Nichols committed 10 turnovers to just seven for the Chargers, while both teams were effective on draw controls with the Bison going 18-for-20 and the Chargers going 15-for-16.
